Farmstay ist eine wunderbare Sache und wenn man es so trifft, wie wir mit dem Tostaree Cottages (und den herzensguten Vicky und Greg), stehen einem unvergessliche Tage bevor.
Auch wenn man mit einem super Campervan wochenlang unterwegs ist, kommt doch schon Mal die Lust auf etwas mehr Platz / auf ein Break, auf. So geschehen in Viktoria.

Die Wikicamps App und das Internet haben uns dabei geholfen Tostaree Cottages zu finden.
Das Gute am Reisen mit dem Campervan ist, dass man keine Angst vor einer Nacht ohne Dach überm Kopf haben muss und so sind wir ohne vorgängige Kontaktaufnahme oder Reservation hingefahren. Prompt war bei unserer Ankunft auch niemand aufm Hof.
Kein Problem, dann warten wir halt. Erst kommt die Mutter von Vicky aufm Hof vorbei, leider weiss sie auch nicht wo Vicky ist. Kein Problem, dann warten wir weiter. Warten war auch schon unangenehmer; es ist ein wunderschöner Tag, der Himmel ist blau, die Sonne wärmt angenehm, die Schafe und Kühe sind auf der Weide, die zwei Hunde bellen aufgeregt und Snowy, das junge Kätzchen schmiegt sich um unsere Beine.
Zwischenzeitlich haben wir mit Greg den Kontakt hergestellt und klar, kein Problem, wir können mit dem Campervan bleiben, no worries. Leider gestaltet sich die Verständigung übers Handy etwas schwierig, der australische Slang kann manchmal ein Buch mit sieben Siegeln sein und so warten wir noch ein kleinwenig weiter bis Greg kommt und uns den Abstellplatz zeigt. Den Campervan kaum abgestellt, werden wir auch schon gefragt, ob wir mit zu den Tieren wollen. Also raus ausm Campervan und hopp aufs Farm-Buggy-Quad…

Farm Stay is a wonderful thing to do and if you hit it just as we did with the Tostaree Cottages (and the good-hearted Vicky and Greg), unforgettable days will arise.
Traveling for weeks in small camper van can give you a feeling of tightness and sometimes crampedness and due to these feelings a strong desire for a bit more space can emerge in your soul. This is what happened to us in Victoria.
Wikicamp and Internet helped us to find the Tostaree Cottages.
The good thing about traveling by camper van is that you are not afraid of a night without a roof over your head and so we went there without prior contact or reservation.
As we arrive nobody is there. No worries, we wait. Only the mother of Vicky passes by but she does not know where Vicky is either. No problem, we will wait. Waiting can be unpleasant but:
it’s a beautiful day, the sky is blue, the sun pleasantly warm, the sheep and cows are out to pasture, the two dogs are barking excitedly and Snowy, the young kittens nestles around our legs. If waiting could be always like that.
In the meantime Greg called us and yes of course, we can stay with the campervan, no worries. Unfortunately, the Australian slang can be a closed book for foreigners, especially via phone call and so we have to wait a little bit longer until Greg arrives and shows us the pound for the camper van.
The key still in the ignition lock of the camper van, we are asked if we like to have a ride to the animals. Hop off the camper van and hop on the Farm-Buggy-Quad.

We planed to stay two nights but stayed four and we could have stayed longer.
That’s Australia! ,Beautiful ‹ as my old uncle in Melbourne uses to say and he’s definitely right!
Greg, Vicky and their beautiful Tostaree Cottages have conquered a fine yard in our hearts and
if ever we come back to Australia , we will visit them again, no worries!
Wir wollten zwei Nächte bleiben, es wurden vier und wir hätten noch länger bleiben können.

Wir haben Greg und Vicky und ihren Ort in unsere Herzen geschlossen und klar, wenn wir wieder einmal in Australien sind, werden wir sie besuchen.
